Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr believes he is putting a side together for next season that will run through brick walls for the cause.

Harriers have so far brought in Tom Shaw, Danny Lewis, Lee Vaughan, Keith Briggs and David Hankin to Aggborough this summer, to supplement his existing squad of players.

Of those five, only Shaw was playing full-time football last season, with the other four looking to grasp their big chance at the full-time game with both hands after plying their trade in the Blue Square North.

If they fail to impress, the opportunity may not come along again, giving them all the motivation they need to make Harriers a success in the Blue Square Premier next season.

Boss Burr believes their hunger can be the force that drives the team on in the months ahead, even hoping it will rub on some of the other players still despondent at the last campaign falling away to a mid-table finish.

The final line-up is far from complete, but the manager is happy to have taken the gamble with unproven talent for the endeavour they will provide.

He said: "It will be a very hungry side next season, without question. We are confident in giving them the opportunity because we know what they are capable of, they have got to make the step up also but they will be very proud to wear the shirt, I know that.

"I wouldn't want to criticise the lads that were here last season, but maybe one or two did perhaps have in their mind that they were not going to be here next year - that sometimes happens.

"Now we have brought in lads who are hungry to do well and hopefully we can work on improving them."
