Kidderminster Harriers boss Steve Burr is hoping to bring two more players into Aggborough this week after clarifying the club's financial position.

The manager returned to work from a family holiday in Scotland this week and straight back into finalising his line-up for next season, with big question marks still hanging over a good majority of the current playing staff at Aggborough.

Only eight of last season's squad are guaranteed new terms, and it's not until Burr meets with chairman Barry Norgrove that the Harriers boss will have a clearer idea of what he will have to offer players.

Even then it's open to change, with the club hoping for decent revenue streams from July's home friendlies with Premier League Albion and Championship promotion contenders Nottingham Forest.

But Burr is hoping for enough in the pot to complete two transfer captures in the coming days.

He said: "I have a meeting with the chairman on Thursday to see where we are on the financial side of things.

"But hopefully we should be in a position to announce something about a couple of players coming in before the end of the week, though nothing is final just yet."

Of the new blood, one is thought to be winger David Hankin, a free agent who played under Burr at Stalybridge, who is moving to the Birmingham area and has already been confirmed by the Harriers boss to be a target.

The other could be the long running 'mystery' striker recently released by a Football League club, who has been revealed to be away on holiday mulling over his options.

But the manager was not so coy when referring to Hankin.

He added: "I have held talks with Dave and, fingers crossed, we can sort something out with him."
