Stafford Rangers have reached a verbal agreement with goalkeeper Lee Evans for him to sign on at Marston Road for another season.

The Rangers No 1 will put pen to paper on terms for the new campaign upon his return from the United States next month, where he is coaching youngsters as part of his soccer schools business.

Tom Harrison is also expected to stay on as his deputy and will be looking to push harder for a place come 2010/11, after struggling with an ankle injury since joining from Stoke last summer.

Evans is an example for him to follow after initially suffering an horrific facial and then an ankle ligament injury with last term in it's infancy, but bounced back to nail down the goalkeeper's jersey and be named supporters and directors Player of the Season.

It was a breakthrough season for the 27-year-old after stepping up from UniBond League Division One South football with Chasetown, with manager Chris Brindley now acting quickly to get his first-choice on board for the next year.

The Rangers boss is out of the country as well from tomorrow on his summer holidays, but his assistant Darren Read has confirmed it's pretty much a done deal.

He said: "Lee has spoken to the manager and agreed to sign for next season, he's out of the country with his coaching at the moment but will be back next month. It's a massive boost for us.

"Tom will also be back in pre-season to push 'Evo' for his place, he lives practically on our doorstep so it's two excellent goalkeepers for us to have on our books.

"It makes sense for us to have that our base for next season."
