Kidderminster Harriers chairman Barry Norgrove has revealed that the club are already well down the line with bringing a host of new players into Aggborough.

Various names have bandied around since the end of the season last month, with the likes of AFC Telford defender Lee Vaughan and Worcester's Pakistan international full-back Shabir Khan among those doing the rounds.

A new one to emerge over the weekend is Redditch goalkeeper Danny Lewis, a former Harrier between 2004 and 2006, who could tread the same path as Gary Whild, his former boss at the Valley Stadium and the new assistant manager at Aggborough.

Harriers will definitely need a new man between the sticks after releasing their whole berth in Dean Coleman and Jasbir Singh, and trialled Aberdeen goalkeeper John Bateman in the closing stages of the campaign.

The main point the chairman is making is that these things take time, but has reassured supporters that the club and manager Steve Burr are already very active in the transfer market.

Norgrove said: "At the moment we're waiting for a lot of players to come through at the beginning of July, when their contracts at their current clubs are up.

"Steve has planned out very well who he would like to bring i,n but obviously we cannot say too much about individuals who remain under contract.

"I know for certain that the players he is looking at are good players and players who not only are well liked, but also want to come here and play for us.

"Clubs are interested in them and we are hopeful that they will come through with what they've told us."
