Goalkeeper Dean Coleman is confident of his future in the full-time professional game despite his release from Kidderminster Harriers this week.

The 24-year-old saw a near three year spell at Aggborough come to an end when his contract expired at the turn of this month, joining understudy Jasbir Singh at the exit door.

Coleman had made 43 appearances between the sticks and hoped 2009/10 would be the season where he finally nailed down the No 1 spot, but struggled with a groin injury just as the manager was changing from Mark Yates to Steve Burr.

Burr dropped him for two games after a howler in his first game in charge at Crawley, but the former Walsall youngster rebounded to win his place back and keep a clean sheet at Oxford.

But by then his groin was becoming a problem to the extent where an operation was the only answer, which ended his season and any further chances to impress the manager.

Now Coleman and his agent Mel Eves are hard at work finding him a new place to stay for next season, and the Dudley-born shot-stopper also concedes a move away from the West Midlands may be the only answer.

He said: "I am waiting for my agent to sort things out for me at the minute, but I should be fine to get a club for next season. For what I have done so far, I think I have done pretty well, so we are looking towards keeping me in the full-time game for next season.

"If I can't get into the Football League, then we would looking at staying in the Blue Square Premier."

Coleman also confirmed his full recovery from groin surgery.

He added: "I am fit now after my operation, I probably need a bit of a pre-season now to get me back to where I was and when I have that I should be fine.

"But I will be keeping myself ticking over during the summer."
