Rangers confirm interest in Daniel

Stafford Rangers have today confirmed their wish to speak to former captain Wayne Daniel about an emotional return to the club for next season.
The 33-year-old is a free agent after his release from Worcester City last week, after just a year at St Georges Lane since leaving Rangers last summer.
Daniel had been a fixture at Marston Road for some seven seasons previously, making over 300 appearances and becoming an iconic figure as captain.
His former club are now ready to offer him a route back into the game and there is certainly no hard feelings between player and management, as an informal attempt was made to bring him back on loan in January as a fitness exercise coming back from injury at Worcester.
The move fell through and another former star in Craig McAughtrie was brought back on loan from Eastwood until the end of the season, with Rangers now dreaming of teaming both together for the first time since 2007.
Assistant boss Darren Read admits the club are interested, but warns financial restrictions will ultimately decide whether a deal can be struck.
He said: "Financially we are still a bit restrained on what we can offer people, but Wayne is a player we would like to sit round a table with. His service to Stafford Rangers was second to none, he was a fantastic leader for us and someone who has always been in our thinking process.
"To have both Wayne and Craig McAughtrie back for us next season would be, in my opinion, two fantastic additions for this football club."
