Kidderminster Harriers veteran Marcus Bignot could be set to retire after being sounded out for a coaching job in the United Arab Emirates.

The 35-year-old has been on non-contract forms after since rejoining the club from League One Millwall in February, nearly 13 years after leaving Aggborough to join Crewe.

But the experienced campaigner has only made three appearances since his return, although has also been involved in an unofficial coaching capacity behind the scenes.

And that is where Bignot sees his future with his playing days drawing to a close, with his next task before embarking on his summer holidays completing the UEFA 'A' licence in Reading.

But the Birmingham-born defender has already been approach by a top flight club from the UAE which, should it come to pass, would spell the end of his career on the pitch.

He said: "I will have a nice break now and weigh up my situation. Will I be at Harriers next season? I wouldn't be surprised either way. I did a bit of coaching while I was there and I am leaning more towards that. There had been talk of me staying on in that capacity, but it hasn't been followed up as yet.

"But something else has cropped up now, the possible opportunity of coaching in the United Arab Emirates, I can't say exactly where at the moment but it's a big club. It might be something I can't turn down if it comes to fruition.

"It would not only be a job, it would be a life experience as well."

Harriers have agreed a two-year shirt and short sponsorship deal with OGL Computers, who replace Law Plant Hire and Tim Rose Electricals for next season.

The Worcestershire IT support and solutions were previously sponsors from 1997 to 2004, during which time in which the club were promoted to the Football League.
