Wolves defender Jody Craddock is happy to carry on leading the team as they close in on survival.

Craddock has taken the armband he wore for the first three Premier League games of the season, with captain Karl Henry suspended.

The team have remained solid with back to back goalless draws against Stoke and Fulham, with the evergreen stopper at the helm.

Henry completes his three-match ban for his sending off against Arsenal this Saturday against Blackburn and is available for the final away game at Portsmouth on May 1.

But, at 34, Craddock is happy to pass on his experience from the front.

He said: "I'm loving it – it's fantastic to be playing and it's nice to chip in and be captain every now and then as well. I don't feel it's any more pressure – I just do my job and if I'm good enough, it's good enough and if it's not then I won't be in the team, it's as simple as that.

"I don't shout any more as captain because I get a bit tired at times! But that's when you need 11 captains on that pitch – we need 11 players to spur everyone on.

"We need those 11 captains out there because that's how you win games, be solid and end up staying in the Premier League.

"Sometimes if there's a bit of a dip in the game, you find you want to spur people on. But survival is the be-all and end-all and the sooner we can do that the better."

Craddock, who had two stitches removed from his forehead before Saturday's game, is relishing the prospect of an aerial onslaught against Rovers this weekend.

He said: "That's what we've dealt with week-in, week-out so hopefully we can deal with their threat. I love playing – I can't say it gets easier but I'm more experienced which helps an awful lot.

"I feel there's less pressure on me, because I'm getting older and no one thought I'd still be playing."
