Stafford Rangers winger Levi Reid believes the team have not seen the last of Tony Dinning despite continued doubts over the veteran midfielder's future.

Dinning is considering leaving Marston Road after being dropped from the team for last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Fleetwood, and all eyes will be upon whether the 35-year-old is in the squad to play Vauxhall Motors on Saturday.

Reid was in the starting line-up on the right last time out while Dinning warmed the bench, and can understand where his team-mate is coming from.

But the hometown wide man believes bridges can be mended between now and the end of the season, so that the most experienced player on the books can be welcomed back into the fold.

The 26-year-old said: "I can understand what Tony is saying, to be honest, coming towards the end of his career and it's understandable he wants to play every week.

"But this is football, things happen and I am sure he will stay have a part to play for us between now and the end of the season."

Reid has had his own doubts on his place this week after being struck down with flu, which forced him to miss Tuesday night's training session.

But the winger is expected to rejoin the rest of the players tonight, and is confident of being fit for Saturday's relegation six-pointer.

He said: "I didn't feel great towards last weekend, to be honest, and after the game I just got worse. I didn't train on Tuesday, I have just rested up at home with plenty of fluids but I feel much better now.

"We train again tonight and I shall have a good blast, so I reckon I will be alright for Saturday."
