Stafford Rangers midfielder Tony Dinning is urging the team to use the home triple-header coming up to shed their 'draw specialists' tag.

Saturday's visit of mid-table Ilkeston precedes games with league leaders Fleetwood and relegation rivals Vauxhall Motors over successive weekends, with Rangers having shared the spoils in six of their last eight games.

The next three matches could go a long way to securing their Blue Square North spot for next season but home form has been patchy for Chris Brindley's men, with just four wins out of 16 as the hosts all season.

Now Dinning has urged his team-mates to use this opportunity to go for the kill without remorse to grab the points on offer.

He said: "Ideally nine points would be great obviously, six or seven points would be good, but the last thing we want to do is pick up three draws. We would better off winning, losing and drawing a game than doing that.

"It's no good being unbeaten in however many games if you are not picking up a decent amount of points. We are at home where we have needed to do better, so it's up to us to take the game to our opponents and we need to put that extra 10 per cent in.

"We are letting games slip at the minute, it's that final pass or that final shot where we need to be more ruthless."
