Harriers boss could ring the changes
Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr could ring the changes for the trip to Luton as the team pick themselves up after Saturday's FA Trophy horror show.
Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr could ring the changes for the trip to Luton as the team pick themselves up after Saturday's FA Trophy horror show.
The first leg of the semi-final at Aggborough saw the home side walloped 5-1 by league leaders Stevenage, leaving this weekend's return game as the Mount Everest of tasks for Harriers.
But Burr's men have no time to sulk as they head to Kenilworth Road in Blue Square Premier tonight, looking to cut the gap on the play-off places after falling some 11 points off the pace.
Martin Riley, Darryl Knights and Dean Bennett represent the walking wounded from Stevenage with the latter the biggest doubt, while midfield duo Marc Goodfellow and Jack Byrne return to the squad after they were cup tied on Saturday.
And the manager admits it might be the right time to freshen up the side.
He said: "It may be that other people who have been waiting patiently may now get their opportunity. Lads like Goodfellow and Byrne were cup tied on Saturday but they come back into things now.
"James Lawrie and Tom Sharpe have also been waiting very patiently for their chance as well, so it may be that they get an opportunity to play."
Lawrie and Byrne await their first starts for the club since signing last month, with the former's loan deal at Port Vale set to expire later in March.
But Burr insists it's just a matter of circumstances for his borrowed frontman.
The manager said: "The way we had been playing there had been very little need to change things. James understands the situation and he has trained very well.
"Jack has a very bright future ahead of him but it's a very difficult game for him to come into. But, if he plays, it's all about taking your opportunities."
