Kidderminster Harriers midfielder John Finnigan is out of the trip to Eastbourne Borough in the Blue Square Premier with a calf injury.

Assistant boss Finnigan had to be replaced after a hour of Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Ebbsfleet after pulling the muscle, but is expected to travel with the squad to East Sussex to take his place in the dug out tomorrow.

Marcus Bignot is the hot favourite to take his place in the middle of the park alongside Dean Bennett and Chris McPhee, although boss Steve Burr could spring a surprise by starting new signing Jack Byrne, brought in from Redditch this week.

The manager also has three forwards fighting it out for the out-and-out striking berth with Robbie Matthews, Adam Boyes and James Lawrie all available and in the squad.

Harriers face an Eastbourne side reeling from a 6-0 rout at home to second-placed Stevenage on Tuesday night, but Burr is not expecting the relegation-threatened hosts to be cannon fodder tomorrow.

He said: "I know from experience that playing a side that have come from a drubbing makes it a lot harder.

"It will a tough game against a club that have done very well in recent years, their manager Garry Wilson has done a good job there and they can still pick up results, like winning at York last weekend.

"But we are on a good run of results and hopefully we can continue that. We just want to win our games, see where it takes us and try to close the gap on the teams above us.

"That is all we can do in our position."

Harriers have arranged a date for their outstanding Blue Square Premier fixture at Barrow, and will now travel to Holker Street on Thursday April 8.
