Stafford Rangers winger Levi Reid has pinpointed the rearranged home game with survival rivals Redditch as a 'six pointer' after Saturday's draw with Alfreton.

Reid was part of the team that ground out a share of the spoils with the play-off chasers at Marston Road, after a Tony Dinning penalty had equalised Paul Clayton's goal for the visitors in the first-half.

It was enough to give Chris Brindley's men further breathing space with an eight point gap from the bottom three in their fight against the drop, ahead of the visit tomorrow night of a Redditch team fighting for their lives above the trap door in 19th.

And hometown player Reid confirms it's a game Rangers dare not lose tomorrow.

He said: "We have just got to keep picking up points, that is the main thing now. I think we will stay up, but we need to keep getting the results to make sure of that. We are playing a lot of the teams around us and have Redditch next, that is a six pointer for me and we need to beat them.

"We definitely would have taken four points from these two games on Friday morning."

Rangers handed a debut to new signing Dominic Merella, another player gleaned from the club's link up with Glenn Hoddle's academy in Spain, with the former Blackpool youngster starting up front on Saturday.

The new boy's application impressed his team-mate Reid, especially on a pudding of a pitch at Marston Road.

He said: "I thought Dominic looked pretty decent, to be fair. You can't really judge him on that pitch, it really takes it out of your legs."
