Defender Lee Baker was the hero for Kidderminster Harriers after bagging the brace that booked their place in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final.

Worcester City had romped into a 2-0 lead after just 23 minutes at St George's Lane last night through Alfie Carter and former Aggborough trialist Rob Elvins, before Darryl Knights pulled a goal back eight minutes after the break.

Left-back Baker then took over with two stunners, a great solo run ended with the equaliser before a 25-yard drive five minutes later on 64 flew into the net for what proved to be the match-winner.

It saw a strong Harriers team containing the likes of Baker, Knights, captain Chris McPhee, Kyle Hadley and Robbie Matthews through to the final.

Goalkeeper Jasbir Singh also earned his corn with a vital block in stoppage time to deny Marco Adaggio, taking his place between the sticks after being dropped for Dean Coleman at Oxford United on Saturday.

But both have received a significant boost already this week, after the club reached an agreement with former England international Tim Flowers to work with the club's goalkeepers in specialist training sessions for one day a week until the end of the season.

The cost is being covered in part by the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust (KHIST), who will be 'Player Sponsor' to Flowers during his time at Aggborough.

Harriers boss Steve Burr was especially keen to get the 43-year-old, who started his career in goal for Wolves, on board after the success of a previous one-off session last month.

The manager said: "Having spoken to Jas and Dean it was clear that they hadn't had any individual work in training all season.

"Tim is quite local to the club, so to have an arrangement now whereby he can come in and share some of his experience with these lads on a more regular basis is fantastic.

"We really appreciate KHIST's contribution to bringing him here."

Harriers have set new dates to play both their Blue Square Premier games against Barrow, with the Bluebirds the visitors to Aggborough on February 23 before the return game in Cumbria on April 20.
