Stafford Rangers captain Bobby Wilson insists spirits are still high among the players despite seeing a third consecutive game fall to the weather at the weekend.

As expected, Farsley Celtic called off Saturday's Blue Square North clash with their Throstle Nest ground sub-merged in snow, going the same way as home matches against Redditch and local rivals AFC Telford.

Tomorrow night's re-arranged game with Redditch is now in serious doubt, after sub-zero temperatures and another blanket of snow yesterday left the Marston Road playing surface frozen over.

The Rangers squad have not been able to train on the pitch since before Christmas and have been limited to indoor sessions and gym work waiting for a return to action, and not one game in the league on Saturday made it.

Wilson admits it's a testing time, but has urged his team-mates not to worry about elements they cannot control.

He said: "It's frustrating, we can't play and we can't train on our pitch either in these conditions. We haven't had a match for a long while, and we won't be playing for a long while if there's much more of this weather.

"But heads have not dropped, if anything it has made us more eager, because when you haven't played for a while you just want to get going again.

"We are all keeping our fitness up, we are running and working hard in the gym, trying to keep ourselves in shape. The five-a-side sessions have been a good laugh and kept our spirits up as well.

"There is not much more we can do, we just need to stay as a team."
