Kidderminster Harriers chairman Barry Norgrove has admitted it could take the best part of a fortnight for a new manager to be appointed at Aggborough.

Harriers are still sifting through some 50 applicants for the job, and will not even discuss Mark Yates' successor until a board meeting can be called for early next week. The powers-that-be were due to convene on Tuesday night and again on Wednesday, only for weather conditions to take hold.

The chairman himself was snowed in until yesterday, but has now been to the club and has the list of applicants in his possession.

Things are moving on, but Norgrove warns it will take time.

He said: "If we can have a board meeting early next week, then possibly we can look to interview by the end of the week, but an appointment by the time of the game on the Saturday could be a bit too soon. First we have got to meet, then we have got to whittle the applicants down until we have a shortlist.

"It was always going to be well into the New Year until we decided on a new manager, the process would have started already but the weather has put paid to that."

Harriers, as expected, will not be in action tomorrow after it was confirmed the FA Cup home tie against Lewes has been called off.

The game could now go ahead on what would have been the replay date on Tuesday night, although both clubs have agreed to a pitch inspection at Aggborough on Monday morning with more snow expected in the area over the weekend.

But caretaker boss John Finnigan has completed his first bit of transfer business yesterday, by extending the loan of Kettering striker Damian Spencer for another month.
