Skipper's doubt on Rangers place
Stafford Rangers captain Bobby Wilson does not expect to walk straight back into the team after suspension - but circumstances may force manager Chris Brindley's hand.
The Marston Road men next go to unbeaten-at-home Fleetwood on Saturday minus right-back Ashley Wooliscroft, who is at Rangers on loan from their opponents and will not be allowed to play.
That forces Brindley into one change with one of the central defence pairing of Curtley Williams and Jermaine Johnson expected to fill in at full-back, which would leave Wilson's usual spot in the centre up for grabs.
But the skipper is taking nothing for granted after sitting out last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Droylsden serving a one-match ban, for picking his fifth yellow card of the season against Blyth Spartans.
The 21-year-old is champing at the bit to get back, but insists the manager's decision is the final word.
Wilson said: "I was very gutted last Saturday, it was hard to watch from the stands, and the two centre-halves did very well together. Hopefully I will be back in the team on Saturday but it's not a guaranteed spot, so we will have to see what the gaffer comes up with.
"It may be that I am needed to be pitched straight back in, with the right-back out, but I won't be kicking up a fuss if I end up on the bench. It's the same for anybody when you are suspended, you have just got to dig in and wait for your chance again.
"I will do my best whatever position I am put in, and as long as I am helping the team then I am happy."
