New duo tipped to shine for Rangers
Stafford Rangers chairman Jon Downing believes that the club could have landed another couple of unearthed gems in new strikers Henrik Ojamaa and Warwick Alexander.
The young duo have been drifted in to Marston Road to cover the injury of top scorer Nick Wellecomme and the departure of Ben Mills to Alfreton, and made their debuts in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Hinckley United.
Ojamaa - an Estonian in on a month's loan from Championship side Derby - scored the Rangers goal, while big forward Alexander also caught the eye with his forward play after joining on work experience from Stoke City.
Both are just 18-years-old, with the latter available for no specified period of attachment due to the terms of the agreement. Now the teenage strike-force will be expected to go from boys to men in a short space of time, serving their apprenticeship in the hurly burly Blue Square North.
Downing sees plenty of promise in the new additions, after approving manager Chris Brindley's plan to bring them in.
The chairman said: "One door shuts and another door opens, let's hope that the club have fell on some more gems. Chris carries on finding these players, but we are a young team and that can work against us sometimes.
"Now our forward line is looking good again, we need to tighten up at the back and we know that. Warren is a big, tough lad and Henrik looks to have something about him as well.
"They look competitive, they are young and the big guy in particular was holding the ball up, so there was promise there."
