Halesowen 1 Tiverton 1

Halesowen extended their unbeaten run to 10 games but were again left disappointed to draw after taking a promising lead for the fourth time in five outings.

Liam Daly and Danny Edwards made encouraging Yeltz debuts and Edwards did well to earn a fifth minute corner for Henry Eze to head onto the top of the Tiverton bar. Edwards then nodded just wide from a Jay Denny cross.

Midway through a first half of few clear chances, home goalkeeper Nick Bussey saved the day after Eze sliced his clearance and Halesowen skipper Scott Rickards powered a drive just over the bar.

The best first half chance fell in the 38th minute when Jamie Smith's terrific drive struck the top of the Tiverton post but rebounded to safety. With Halesowen still struggling to breakthrough in the second half, manager

Matt Clarke decided on a double substitution but it was Bussey who clawed the ball away to keep out Mike Booth's curling effort in the 65th minute.

Yeltz finally broke Tiverton's stiff resistance when Edwards capped an impressive debut to head home Denny's 70th minute cross and maintain Halesowen's record of scoring in every Southern Premier League game.

But Halesowen once again failed to hold a vital lead and Tiverton snatched an 82nd minute equaliser when lively substitute Eliott Frear crossed for Joe Bushin to turn home in front of goal.

Leading goalscorer Stefan Moore was kept quiet most of the afternoon but headed just wide in the final minute.
