Stourbridge's Spencer Evans aims to show boxing is in the family genes when the teenager follows older brother Scott into the professional arena later this month.

The 19-year-old will debut on November 28 at Dudley's 'The Venue' - the last paid boxing show of the year in the Black Country.

He is two years younger than his welterweight brother, a former British Masters champion, but both are under the tutelage of trainer Jay Morris and are based from the gym at their family home in Stourbridge.

Spencer said: "Going into the professional world won't bother me, because I have always trained with my brother. I was always in there with him, so I know I am good enough.

"My brother has always been a big help to me, I can always go to him for advice when I need him and he knows a lot."

The younger sibling comes into the professional world after just four amateur fights, after an unpaid career blighted by a go kart accident that badly broke his left arm after just three bouts.

It took three years through his teens for the super featherweight to return to the ring, but such has been the speed of his recovery that after just one more fight Spencer makes the jump to pro.

He said: "I can't wait to get started, my best years are in front of me but I just want to have my debut now.

"It will be busier next year, much busier, but this is a good way to get started."
