McPhee's race to be fit for cup tie

Kidderminster Harriers captain Chris McPhee is running out of time to be passed fit and take his place in the team for Saturday's FA Cup tie at home to Fleetwood.

The skipper is still struggling with bruised ankle ligaments and has been in treatment all week with physio Gavin Crowe, ahead of the fourth qualifying round clash with the Blue Square North big-spenders at Aggborough.

While the initial prognosis is good for the 26-year-old, the midfielder is still yet to train with his team-mates - and hasn't done since suffering the injury under a bad challenge against Luton 12 days ago.

Even with striker Robbie Matthews also suspended, Yates warns that if McPhee doesn't train tomorrow there is no way his captain can play.

The manager said: "Chris is back in treatment today and we will where we go with him, but if he is not fit tomorrow then he won't play. He has not trained for nearly two weeks, so if he can't get involved with the boys tomorrow then the game has come too soon for him.

"I am still reasonably happy with the way he has progressed, which has been a lot quicker than we originally thought, and he still has an outside chance."
