No quick return for Derby's Johnson
Stafford Rangers manager Chris Brindley does not expect a quick return to the club for loan star Jermaine Johnson as the team continue to do without the young Derby defender.
The 19-year-old returned to Pride Park over the international break with a one-game suspension to serve after a red card in the FA Cup at Coventry Sphinx, but impressed over four games last month at the back with two goals to show for it.
Now Emmanuel Udoji and Andy Owens are fit again to take their places at the back, although skipper Bobby Wilson was moved back from midfield to partner Udoji in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at home to Stalybridge, with Owens dropping to the bench.
Johnson left Marston Road carrying an ankle injury anyway, but dialogue has continued between Brindley and Derby assistant manager Gary Crosby about another loan move for the former Chelsea youngster.
But the need is not as pressing as it was before, although the Rangers boss is still interested in the player.
Brindley said: "I am not sure how he is now, but Jermaine was injured and suspended when he went back to Derby, although obviously his ban has been served now. We will continue to monitor his situation and keep tabs on him.
"But there is nothing imminent on that score at the moment."
