Stourbridge 0 Evesham 0
Six days after Stourbridge overcame Evesham in the FA Cup the two sides met again and managed to cancel each other out in a dour goalless draw.
A blustery wind down the ground did not help matters with too many passes and balls forward going astray.
Goalkeeper Stuart Brock, making his Stourbridge debut, was called into action with three minutes gone when Evesham were awarded a free-kick just outside the area. Richard Ball powered in an effort that Brock managed to push out.
The visitors shaded the early part of the game but the Glassboys put together their first move of note on 23 minutes. James Dyson carried the ball forward from midfield and fed Ryan Rowe on the right-hand edge of the box.
The attacker took on his marker before hitting a drive that goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan pushed round for a corner.
Evesham responded two minutes later with a corner from Simon Fitter falling to Ball at the far post but, after working an opening, his shot was parried by Brock. On the half-hour mark Rowe spun past Steve Luckett and hit a shot from around 25 yards out that Vaughan saved low to his right.
The second period brought little improvement in play, although Evesham sub Jamie Cooper provided the visitors with a greater threat down the left flank.
Five minutes after the re-start a stray pass was pounced on by Rowe and he found Linden Dovey, but his chip was saved by Vaughan.
On 69 minutes, Sean Evans cut inside from the left and through the heart of the Evesham defence before dinking the ball beyond Vaughan, only to see Luckett get back to head the ball off the line.
Thirteen minutes from time Fitter put Ball through on goal but Brock spread himself well to block Ball's shot.
