Spalding 1 Rushall Olympic 1

High-flying Rushall Olympic hit the buffers at second-from-bottom Spalding United as they struggled to a draw against a side who have yet to win a league game this season.

The opening effort of a very poor UniBond League First Division South encounter came on 11 minutes, when Rushall's Anthony Maguire sent the ball wide of the target from the edge of the box.

The next worthwhile opportunity from either side didn't arrive until the 32nd minute, when a cross-field ball from Rushall's Mark Lowe found Scott Stevenson who in turn teed up Anthony Maguire and the midfielder rifled into the roof of the net from an acute angle to give the visitors the lead.

Three minutes into the second period and the Pics were caught stone cold as the home side equalised. The assistant referee awarded a free-kick on the right and from the resulting ball into the box unmarked Danny Georg easily headed home.

The second period only proceeded to degenerate further as the minutes ticked away, with very little action to report from two extremely poor sides on the day .
