The Marston Road men are already in line to receive £6,000 from the Premier League's donation to the Football Conference, which could be boosted by a further £4,500 if the team can go to Coventry Spinhx and progress into the third qualifying round.

Defeat at another Midland Alliance outfit in Coalville last season hurt the club fiancially, a theme that continued throughout the campaign and into the summer.

Rangers seems to have now weathered the tide, but a good cup run would be a significant boost for the coffers.

Chairman Jon Downing said: "Things have certainly calmed down a bit on the financial front since the summer and last season, in fact all of non-league football has endured a tough 12 months. It really didn't help going out of the FA Cup at the first time of asking last year, so hopefully we can do a bit better this time.

"The club is not doing so bad now, but a good cup run could put us in a really healthy position."

Rangers will be having a fun ride on Sunday in Stafford, starting in the Market Square at 10:30am and ending at the club, with all proceeds going towards the improvement of disabled facilities at their Marston Road ground.

The Mayor of Stafford will start the race with British Paralympian swimmer Eleanor Simmonds MBE on hand as the celebrity guest, while players will also be taking part.
