Harriers boss wary of Forest Green trip

Kidderminster Harriers manager Mark Yates does not want his side to become Forest Green's first victims as they head to Gloucesterhire in league action.

The Aggborough men face a side tonight (7:45pm) still looking for their first win of the Blue Square Premier season after 11 games and under new management in Dave Hockaday, who takes charge of his third game after two draws.

But Harriers have a poor record at the New Lawn, winning just once in four meetings since coming down from the Football League in 2005 although they are yet to lose on the ground, either.

Last season's fixture was a particularly unhappy one for the manager, who was sent to the stands for protesting in the 2-2 draw after seeing his side reduced to nine men with Justin Richards and Martin Riley sent off.

And Yates is anxious to avoid another hard night in Nailsworth.

He said: "The club hasn't had the best of records down there and last season's trip wasn't much fun either, when we had two players sent off and drew the game.

"It's going to be a tussle and it's a tough place to go for us. Forest Green are not on the best or runs, but I know they will be looking to get their first win of the season. It's going to be a difficult one, but if we work hard and play to the best of our ability then we have a good chance.

"We are three games unbeaten and we won't take them lightly, because we do not want to be their first victims."
