Stourbridge 2 Bashley 2
A goal four minutes into stoppage time from Ryan Rowe salvaged a deserved point for Stourbridge against 10-man Bashley.
Despite being without several regulars, the Glassboys made a positive start to the Zamaretto Premier League encounter.
James Dyson clipped a ball behind the visiting defence for Rowe and he poked a shot past goalkeeper David Elm but also wide of the far post.
After 34 minutes Sam Rock should have done better with a downward header from Drew Canavan's cross but his effort lacked power.
On the stroke of half-time Stourbridge opened the scoring through debutant Damion Jarrett, who had come on as a substitute for Linden Dovey.
Jarrett found Canavan and his through ball saw the new-boy get the better of Peter Castle before slipping a low shot past the advancing Elm.
But home joy proved short-lived, as two minutes into added time Bashley got back on level terms.
A corner from Chris Ferrett was glanced on at the near post by Justin Keeler and Adam Kelly turned the ball home from close range.
Stourbridge pushed forward after the break without finding the net. In the 53rd minute Rock played Rowe through but he went too wide as he rounded Elm and was unable to get his shot away.
On 62 minutes Bashley carved out an opportunity when a ball from Kelly was flicked on by Joe Maxwell but Mark Gamble chipped the ball well over from the right-hand edge of the area. Six minutes later Elm twice came to the visitors' rescue. Rock checked inside and hit a low 20-yard shot that Elm got down well to his left to push round for a corner.
From the resulting flag-kick , the ball dropped to Jarrett whose shot was well blocked by Elm before Rowe hooked the rebound over.
Two minutes later Bashley were reduced to 10 men when Gary Middleton picked up his second caution for a mistimed challenge on Jarrett.
But the sending off appeared to galvansie the visitors and on 79 minutes Bashley scored a fine goal.
Dave Allen exchanged passes with Gamble before slotting the ball inside the far post.
But right at the death a right-wing free-kick from Canavan saw Nathan Bennett rise to direct a header towards goal and Rowe provided the final flick beyond Elm.
