Chasetown came back from their travels pointless after an emphatic defeat at Mickeover Sports.

Gary Birch's second-half strike sealed the points for Chasetown in a hard-fought and entertaining game at Brigg Town.

It was Mickleover who took the lead in the 28th minute, when Alex Steadman broke clear of Dave Woodvine before beating goalkeeper Martin Taylor with a side-foot finish.

Mickleover doubled their lead when Steadman popped up unmarked to send the ball into the roof of the net for his second.

Things then went from bad to worse for the visitors as Sports were awarded a penalty, after Mark Branch collided with Graves and Colin Hoyle stepped up to fire down the centre as Taylor dived left.
