Amos' future doubt after Edwards exit

Nick Amos admits he doesn't know what the future holds - a recall to Stafford Rangers or continuing under the new regime at Hednesford.

The 34-year-old is at the Grove on a game-to-game deal with the permission of Rangers and has been since the Bank Holiday at the end of last month, but Pitmen manager Dean Edwards left the club this week with caretaker Bernard McNally now at the helm.

Under FA rules, as the team's are in different leagues, Amos is eligible to play for both clubs.

But he must wait to see what the new Hednesford manager has in mind for him, with loose chat still taking place between Marston Road boss Chris Brindley and the player about his future.

All leaves the veteran centre-half in an uncertain position, which he is hoping to resolve sooner rather than later.

He said: "I was a bit bemused by Dean going, to be honest, I was enjoying my football at Hednesford but now they have switched managers, I don't know what will happen. This changes everything.

"Now I am just waiting to see what the future holds really, I have had a sustained run of games so maybe Chris will have me back, now I have proved my fitness. The big thing is that I don't know where I am at the moment, which I hope to sort out.

"I never wanted to leave Rangers but I needed games, so of course I would be willing to play for them again."
