Dean Coleman believes he is growing into the Kidderminster Harriers goalkeeper's jersey which each game that passes as he continues to pin down the No 1 slot.

The young shot-stopper, who turns 24 on Friday, has played all 10 games so far this season, having been promised his chance by manager Mark Yates after the departure of Adam Bartlett in the summer.

It was what Coleman had been waiting for, after two years mainly on the fringes since signing from Walsall.

He said: "It's all down to the performances that I put in, that is what keeps me in the team, and I don't think I have done too bad. I have been waiting for this chance for a long time and I won't give it up quickly."

Coleman was candid when explaining how he and defender Martin Riley clashed for Histon's 85th minute equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw.

The goalkeeper added: "I called 'keepers' when the ball came through, Martin has been a bit hesitant and ended up heading the ball past me. It was one of those things and blame doesn't come into it, both of us could have done better."
