Skornicki opens heart on problems
Fans' favourite Adam Skornicki has opened his heart about the problems affecting his racing.
The Wolves rider displayed his best form in years at the start of the campaign, but has gone off the boil in recent weeks.
Now the 2008 Polish champion wants to clear his head and take an Elite League winner's medal, just as he did last year when on loan at Poole.
A revitalised Skornicki won his final three rides at Coventry on Friday, including a last-heat decider, as Wolves fought back from a 12-point deficit to take a 50-43 Midland League victory.
But speaking immediately afterwards, Skornicki revealed that he almost declined the offer to ride in heat 15.
He said: "It's still difficult, especially the beginning of the meetings. I'm very happy with how the meeting ends and I had a really good meeting in Sweden on Tuesday.
"There are days when I just have too many things in my head, too many problems."
Asked whether they are personal or professional, he replied: "Both, a little bit of both.
"It's just doing my head in and sometimes when I'm racing I'm not racing – I'm just thinking about too many things and I'm getting lost.
"I just want to forget about it and enjoy racing. I really did in the last race at Coventry. I wasn't sure to go for this race because I was still up and down.
"But I am happy I did and I feel good."
"It's been long-term problems for me, but I am still fighting. I just want to focus on the play-offs now, win the title with Wolves and finish the season and sort out all the problems."
The Parrys International Wolves look to complete a quick Midland League double over the Bees tonight (7.30).
William Lawson again makes a guest appearance, this time covering for number eight Chris Kerr who is in action for Newport.
The Bees use rider-replacement for Ben Barker, who suffered shoulder injuries in Friday's encounter.
