Rangers could miss six for game
Stafford Rangers could be without six first-team regulars for a tough home game with second-placed Eastwood.
Manager Chris Brindley has confirmed that Jake Moult is definitely out after limping off at Southport on Tuesday night, while midfielder partner Levi Reid is also a doubt after having to be replaced in the 4-2 defeat.
Ross Davidson has also had to cut his short his loan spell from Port Vale through injury, while defender Andy Owens, winger Luke Morgan and striker Ben Mills are all still missing.
Goalkeeper Lee Evans is playing on despite not fully recovering from an ankle ligament tear, while Nick Amos is still gaining fitness at Hednesford on a game-to-game basis.
All leaves the manager plugging more holes for the visit of the Nottinghamshire side tomorrow (3pm), who added summer Wolves trialist and former Derby striker Paris Simmons to their ranks this week.
But Brindley is defiant in the face of adversity.
He said: "I am not too concerned about other teams at the moment, we have got enough problems of our own. This injury situation is killing us at the moment, it's never ending. It's getting to a ridiculous stage, to be honest.
"Eastwood is another game and we will go out to win it, whatever the players that are out there. But the same old defensive problems are there - we can't defend set pieces."
Rangers have brought in Port Vale striker Steve Thompson and Derby centre-half Jermaine Johnson on month-long loans to lighten the load in recent weeks, Thompson netting on Tuesday with Johnson making his bow at the back.
Brindley said: "I don't want to keep signing players, because I want a settled side, but at the moment I have got no option. We are doing well to get the players in that we have and I have been pleased with the two new lads.
"Steve has done alright in both games and took his goal well the other night. Jermaine has played a bit of reserve team football for Derby and he's a good lad, a promising prospect, and I like him.
"We have got them both for a month, we will see what the situation is after that."
