Rangers dying to put things right
Stafford Rangers midfielder Jake Moult has warned Southport they will meet a team dying to put things right after the Saturday from hell.
The Marston Road men were mauled at the Butchers Arms by a rampant Droylsden on Saturday, as the Bloods put seven past their visitors who could only answer through Nick Wellecomme's late consolation.
To be fair, Chris Brindley's men faced a side in sterling form, who went on to top the league last night after another drubbing, this time Harrogate the victims in a 5-0 defeat.
Now Rangers must pick themselves up for a trip to another of the promotion candidates tonight (7:45pm), against a team who completed the double over their hosts last season.
But Southport needed an 88th minute equaliser to salvage a point at home to Hinckley on Saturday, and have drawn their last two games.
Moult - who was part of the starting XI left shell-shocked in Greater Manchester - has admitted the team would settle for a point, but is more glad of an immediate chance to respond.
He said: "We need this game, definitely, to try to put some things right. The longer you leave it after a result like Saturday and the more you dwell on it. I think the determination will be there from everybody, we need to fly out of the traps.
"Droylsden were a very good team, but three of four of those goals could have been eradicated easily. We just seemed to lose concentration. But these things happen, we have just got to bounce back.
"We are all in this together, we win and lose as a team. But a point would be a good result for us."
