Consistency key for Harriers boss

Kidderminster Harriers manager Mark Yates believes consistency will be key to where his side go from here ahead of the visit of Eastbourne to Aggborough.

The Blue Square Premier club have two home games back-to-back in which to rebound from Monday's defeat at Tamworth, the East Sussex side first up tomorrow (3pm) with Mansfield to follow on Tuesday night.

Harriers comprehensively beat Altrincham 3-0 as the hosts last Saturday before their latest setback and, having yet to put three results in a row together, the manager is calling for his side to start to put down a marker.

And with giant striker Robbie Matthews fit-again and key defender Martin Riley back from suspension, Yates will have all of his arsenal to choose from.

He said: "What we are looking for is a bit of consistency. Everybody is striving for that at this stage and we are no different. It can take a bit of time to establish, but that is what we need to do.

"We don't want to become a side who wins one and then loses one, we want to put a sustained run together."

Harriers come up against an Eastbourne side they beat at home and away last season, on a ground where they have already won two out of three games so far.

A solitary home defeat against Kettering is the only blemish on the Aggborough record this season, building on the stellar home form of last term.

Yates added: "We are looking forward to it, when you have had a defeat you always want your chance to put things right as quickly as possible.

"We have done quite well at home so far, hopefully that is something we can continue."
