Knights going nowhere say Harriers
Kidderminster Harriers manager Mark Yates has rubbished reports linking highly-rated attacker Darryl Knights with a move away from the club.
Rumours speculate that the 21-year-old could be the subject of a bid, possibly from the Football League, to prise him away, but the manager insists any such notion is completely wide of the mark.
Yates sees the player he brought to the club in 2008, initially on loan, as an integral part of the team - despite only naming him among the subs as Harriers lost 2-1 at Tamworth yesterday.
And the Aggborough chief is adamant Knights is going nowhere, as the transfer window slams shut for Football League clubs at 5pm today.
He said: "That is genuinely a rumour to me - I have not heard that and if anyone knows any different, give me a shout!
"He's started the first few games of the season and we've changed it around slightly. Darryl has to wait patiently for his chance and he knows that.
"I've spoken to him and he's happy. Hopefully when he gets his chance, he'll respond in a positive manner, create a few chances and score a couple as well.
"Nobody has contacted me about him, but he knows he'll get his chance."
