Lawson making one-off return
Scottish ace William Lawson is making a one-off guest return to help Wolves' drive towards the Elite League speedway championship.
The 22-year-old will step into the breach for Monday's Monmore clash with title rivals Swindon, according to club owner Chris Van Straaten.
Wolves, already using No 8 Chris Kerr to cover for the injured Hynek Stichauer, are without both double-up reserves for the big match.
Ty Proctor tracks for Premier League Redcar against Edinburgh, while Lee Complin is still on the injured list.
The Stoke man is due to make a tentative comeback tomorrow, but Wolves dare not take his fitness for granted with the biggest match of their season so far looming up.
Van Straaten said: "He's going to try and give it a go on Saturday, but we can't take any risks.
"So we have booked William Lawson in for Monday. We are already using our No 8, so we can do that."
The popular Lawson impressed during Wolves stints in 2006 and 2007, particularly at Monmore, but suffered a nightmare start to this season at his new club Berwick. He failed to adapt to the Bandits' home circuit and his average plummeted.
But a switch to Glasgow saw a return to form, and Lawson enjoyed a triumphant Monmore return earlier this month when he finished runner-up to Tai Woffinden in the Midland Open Championship.
