Harriers boss hails defender Riley
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates believes defender Martin Riley is back to his best after Harriers' clean sheet at Ebbsfleet.
The young stopper is expected to lead from the front this season as the last remaining member of last season's central defence and is settling in to a new pairing with summer signing Gavin Caines.
And the two kept the home side firmly at bay in Kent on Saturday, with Riley a leading light in the second clean sheet three matches into the Blue Square Premier season.
Yates was full of praise for the 21-year-old after the point on the road, an instant reply from Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Salisbury.
The Harriers boss said: "There was another clean sheet, I thought Martin was back to his best and he was superb for me.
"It was a hell of a lot better than Tuesday. I had asked for a response and I got that. It was a pleasing performance. We do feel it's a couple of points dropped really, on the balance of play and the balance of chances.
"We've got to be a little bit more ruthless if I'm going to nit-pick but a commitment, effort and competitive edge was there."
