Stourbridge won at Buxton for the second time in a week to add an FA Trophy win to their FA Cup victory.

The home side controlled much of the opening half and were rewarded on 22 minutes, when the lively David Stone cut in from the right before beating Lewis Solly with a deft chip from the edge of the area.

It might have been two soon afterwards, with Nathan Haisley hitting a fierce 25-yard shot that bounced down off the underside of the bar.

Stourbridge responded with Sam Rock curling a shot narrowly wide, while Joe Murrell produced an excellent diving save to keep out a header from Ross Collins.

Three minutes before the break the visitors fell further behind, with Collins was penalised for a foul on Jason Taylor in the box, who then converted the penalty.

Stourbridge needed an early reply after the break and they got it, with Drew Canavan beating Murrell with an angled low shot.

The Glassboys then drew level on 69 minutes, with Canavan again the man on target with a sublime 25-yard free-kick into the top corner.

With the visitors now in the ascendancy, just four minutes later debutant Sean Evans put Stourbridge ahead when a Ben Billingham drive was deflected into his path and he coolly rounded the keeper to score.

But the lead lasted only three minutes, as a deep corner from Joe Coleman was turned towards goal by Adam Learoyd and Stone provided the final touch at the far post.
