Record breaker Hughes' award reward

Wombourne captain Liam Hughes' record breaking exploits have been rewarded with the Hawk Cricket sponsored Express & Star performance of the month award for June.

Hughes re-wrote the Staffordshire Minor Counties record books with a stunning performance in the three-day championship clash with Norfolk.

The 21-year-old plundered a superb unbeaten 184 – the highest score by a player on debut for Staffs.
