No Harriers move for star Hughes
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates is still adamant that striker Lee Hughes will not be re-signed by the club - despite playing for Harriers.
The former Albion star made a surprise start in the pre-season friendly at Stourport Swifts last night, getting 45 minutes under his belt in a 4-1 win for the Blue Square Premier side.
Hughes has been training at his first club - where he is still their record sale - as he sorts out his future for next season, after turning down a move to League Two Notts County last week.
But Yates continues to insist that the player is financially out of the club's reach.
He said: "I know he has a few things on the back-burner. I'll have a chat with Lee tomorrow and we'll see what happens with regards to our upcoming games.
"But we've helped him out and he's helped us out. It's been great to have him, as you can tell he's been at a decent level."
Another striker used by Harriers was former Albion youngster Rob Elvins, who is a free agent after his release from Aldershot this summer.
The 22-year-old did his chances of a permanent deal no harm by scoring a spectacular overhead kick in the second-half.
But trial defender Gavin Caines looks to be gone, after turning out for Oxford United in a friendly last night.
