Stafford Rangers have cancelled their Stadium Naming Raffle to concentrate on the 250 Club scheme.

The club launched the raffle at £50-a-go to give fans and businesses the opportunity to choose the name of the ground at Marston Road for a season, as well as four runners-up to choose the name of a stand.

But current financial problems at the club - which has seen an appeal to fans to help bail Rangers out to the tune of £50,000 after they were refused a bank loan to repay for hired seating that must be paid by Tuesday - have taken precedence, according to commercial manager David Taylor.

He said they hope to conduct the raffle in the future and anyone who has bought a ticket will receive a full refund.
