Todd Henderson proved too hot to handle as Beacon bounced back to winning ways at Whittington.

The winter recruit from Wolverhampton produced a devastating spell of fast bowling as he tore through the home batting line up to record figures of 8-49, as Beacon bagged a seven-wicket success.

Henderson with 28 not out then joined forces with New Zealander Mike Dodunski on 64 not out to overcome an early jitter that saw Beacon reduced to 10-3, before they overhauled Whittington's 105.

The all-rounder has proved an instant hit at the Trysull Road club with skipper Craig Jones delighted with his performances this season.

Jones said: "He is proving to be a great signing. He is a good lad, he is very competitive on the pitch and has a fantastic attitude.

"He is bowling with a lot of pace and bowled a great spell on Saturday."

Dodunski claimed the other two Whittington wickets.

Beacon entertain Penkridge on Saturday, with Jones set to name an unchanged side.
