Brewood snatched the Staffs Club Cricket Championship from under the noses of Beacon as star all-rounder Chris Pearce hit 130 runs and bagged a five-wicket haul.

Pelsall led the table at the start of the match but 60 with the bat and 7-25 with the ball from Revitt brought an upset that knocked them off top spot.

Pelsall were skittled for just 89 after they had restricted Aldridge to 147.

Revitt's 'magnificent seven' was the key for Aldridge, but Imran Jamshed also claimed two wickets to add to his solid 35 with the bat.

Former captain Paul Grainger continued his fine early-season form for Pelsall, making 20 with the bat and claiming three wickets in a losing cause. Jamie Holmes also chipped in with three wickets.

Aldridge captain Andy Bowers said: "I didn't play and we were without seven first team players, so the team were delighted with the win.

"The lads that played said the pitch was a bit two-paced and when we were batting there was a fair bit of 'chirp' from Pelsall saying it was a '300 wicket.'

"But we bowled well as a team and it ended up being the Tom Revitt show."
