Kidderminster chairman Barry Norgrove is hopeful that a vital cash injection into manager Mark Yates' transfer budget will soon be finalised.

Harriers are still locked in talks with two potential investors, both interested in buying a seat each on the board at Aggborough.

If those negiotiations reach a successful conclusion, at £50,000 per head a six-figure sum would be available to boost the cash-strapped Blue Square Premier club.

Not all the paperwork is yet in, but the chairman is happy with progress so far.

He said: "We are still talking to them at the moment, there's one or two financial bits and pieces that they require and we are getting for them - then we can take the next step.

"I can understand that, they want to make sure that everything is right for them and they know exactly what they are committing themselves to. There's nothing major stopping stopping it at the moment, just minor things they need.

"So it's still ongoing, but we are hopeful that they will come on board with us."

Harriers are also hoping Aggborough friendlies next month against Wolves and Albion will turn a decent profit to aid their moves in the transfer market.

But, with the manager currently on the verge of losing six out-of-contract players in the first-team squad, the club can't afford to wait that long.

Norgrove is hoping it won't come to that.

He said: "We are hopeful that our home friendlies with Albion and Wolves in July will generate the sort of gate profits that we can then give to the manager to use in the transfer market.

"But we don't want to get to mid and late July and still be relying on that, so if these two new directors come on board we would have a sound platform to build on.

"I am working hard to get that up and running."
