Lindgren nearly killed me says rider
Furious Belle Vue star Krzysztof Kasprzak said Wolves ace Fredrik Lindgren "nearly killed me" in a fast and furious final race.
The Polish star, who had forcibly shut the gap on Lindgren out by the back straight fence in heat 15, was incensed at the Swede's response.
Lindgren got inside and shoved Kasprzak out towards the fence, the rider only just retaining control of his machine and then retiring from the race.
The incident led to a brief raising of tension in the pit area before tempers dropped.
An angry Kasprzak said: "I passed him normal by the fence. He nearly killed me.
"I want to turn left, he goes straight out into the fence. I nearly crashed. It's no good, he's not fair.
"Next time will be different maybe."
Lindgren, inevitably, saw things rather differently.
He said: "He was a little bit sad he lost the point, I think.
"It was a hard race. He was pretty tough on me. As we entered turn one, where I pushed him a little bit he really should have made room, because I was going so much quicker.
"But he tried to turn left on me. He really should have been much smoother and moved away and tried to come back in."
Kasprzak's "he nearly killed me" observation cut no ice with the Swede, prompting the cool response: "He didn't crash, did he?"
The Belle Vue number one did have the satisfaction of snapping Fast Freddie's extraordinary unbeaten league streak at Monmore when winning heat 13.
Lindgren said: "It was just fun while it was lasting. I would have liked to keep it a little bit longer, but it doesn't really matter that much.
"I almost got him in the end but he was fast, I must say, really fast. It was hard to beat him."
