As expected, there has been a deal placed on the table to keep the Harriers boss and his assistant Neil Howarth at the club for their fourth campaign.

Chairman Barry Norgrove is awaiting their response after initial talks, during which the playing budget for 2009/10 rated high on the agenda.

After steering the club to sixth place - narrowly missing out on the play-off's on the final day - the club are keen to keep their highly-rated boss at Aggborough.

Skipper Creighton is one of the players that has blossomed under his leadership and the two are now practically the old guard, the centre-half came from Redditch in the first summer of the Yates era.

Only midfielder Russell Penn, with an extra year's service, has been around longer.

Now the captain has given a big thumbs up to the contract offers - he just hopes they sign.

Creighton said: "The gaffer worked wonders over the course of the season and he thoroughly deserves his new contract offer. He is a massive part of the reasons why I am at Kidderminster Harriers.

"A lot of the lads have got massive respect for him, he is a top bloke on and off the pitch. Maybe the club could have sorted it out sooner, but they have acted now so hopefully an agreement can be reached very soon.

"With the manager in place, everything could well fall into place over the next week or two."
