Go and enjoy it urges Brindley
Stafford manager Chris Brindley has told his side to enjoy the occasion as his side take on Kidsgrove in the Staffordshire Senior Cup final tonight (7:45pm).
The Marston Road club aim to win the trophy for the first time in four years against the 2007 winners, who play two levels below their opponents in the Unibond League First Division South.
Rangers come into the match just four days after securing their escape from relegation in the Blue Square North, Saturday's 2-2 draw against Fleetwood enough to render the last league game of the season at home to Hinckley on Saturday meaningless.
Now Brindley is urging one last push in the final at Port Vale's Vale Park, to end the season with the surprisingly nice tonic of silverware.
Not many would predicted such a satisfying end to the campaign when the manager was appointed last December.
He said: "We can enjoy the cup final now, it's good to be in any kind of cup final. It's a Football League ground and hopefully a good number of Stafford people will come and support us.
"At the end of the day it's their club, players and managers come and go but it's the fans' club. Hopefully a few will come, show they want the club to carry on and get themselves to Vale Park."
