Brindley wants to stay as boss
Stafford manager Chris Brindley will be looking to extend his stay when he meets with the Marston Road powers-that-be at the season's end.
The Rangers boss, who replaced Steve Bull last December, has done what was asked of him and kept the team in the Blue Square North.
Their campaign ends on Sunday, after the Staffordshire Senior Cup final against Kidsgrove at Vale Park tomorrow night and the final league game at home to Hinckley on Saturday.
Much is likely to be discussed in the summer, with a host of first-team players out of contract as Brindley has repeatedly refused to discuss his own future beyond the task in hand.
But it's clear he wants to stay.
He said: "Nothing has been decided about anything yet, it's up to the board and we will get everything sorted in due course. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't want to stay here for next season, but we will have to wait and see."
With the club safe from relegation, the Marston Road men can even look forward to the unlikely prospect of honours, as they head to the home of beaten semi-finalists Port Vale as hot favourites against the Unibond League outfit.
Brindley added: "It's great to reach any cup final - we want to enjoy the occasion and we want to win the trophy."
