Harriers target an Alty success
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates believes three points at Altrincham would total a handsome return from the three away games in a week his side have faced.
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates believes three points at Altrincham would total a handsome return from the three away games in a week his side have faced.
Harriers head to Moss Lane having held Forest Green 2-2 on Tuesday night and Ebbsfleet in a 1-1 draw.
On the base of things, that may not look too impressive but Harriers had nine men in the first game and found themselves depleted again last night, after left-back Lee Baker was sent off.
In both games, the play-off chasers have regrouped, refused to accept defeat and come from behind to earn a point.
The manager will be in the first instance just looking to keep his full starting line-up on the field tomorrow, but he wants to see that character again at their mid-table opponents.
He said: "We have showed it and now we must take that to Altrincham. If we can go there and win, it would be five points from these three away games in succession and, with the adversity we have faced, that would be a good return.
"The two points in these last two games have been points gained, no doubt about it. To be men down and chasing the game for most of it, then to come back and get something out of it, shows the character my team have.
"We have five games left now and it's in our hands - thats a good position to be in."
Natural left-back Craig Armstrong is the obvious choice to replace Baker, while Martin Riley is also available again after a one-match ban.
Top scorer Justin Richards sits out the second leg of his three-game suspension.
