No loan captures for Harriers

Kidderminster manager Mark Yates has opted not to add to his squad before the loan window slams shut tonight.

A specific target was in mind as the final part of the jigsaw for the Blue Square Premier play-off challenge but it has not come to pass, and the Harriers boss has ruled out looking elsewhere.

He has already added Craig Armstrong, Michael Carr and Chris McPhee to his squad in 2009 and has just the one player on the sidelines in knee cartilage victim Andy Ferrell - and he could now be back before the season is out.

So Yates is happy to make do and believes he has enough quality to make it to the finish line.

He said: "We have decided against it in the end. There are 20 players in our squad, only Andy is out injured and I feel that we have enough to get us through until the end of the season.

"What we had in mind didn't pan out in the end, and we are not going to bring in other players just for the sake of it."

Harriers welcome Blue Square North outfit Redditch to Aggborough tonight (7:30pm) in the Worcestershire Senior Cup semi-final, with the winners to face Evesham in the final.

Yates admits that the play-off challenge must take precedence, but he wants a good show from his fringe and youth players, as part of the 'culture' at the club.

He said: "The boys who haven't played for a while and the youth team players that did well in the last game will figure tonight. Maybe some will play for 60 minutes, 70 minutes with Saturday in mind.

"When we go out there we will want to win the game, that is the culture we are trying to create. We obviously have bigger fish to fry, but we want to go through to the final."
